Android Edit Text Font Weight






I need to have a edittext beside a search button. the edittext should fill as much of the width as possible, the button should be to the right and be just big enough to have it's text. it looks like. How to assign different color to text in edittext by extending it. i know this is a very old question but since this was the first i got while searching, i would like to add an answer so that future readers get them.. Android.support.design.widget.textinputedittext a special sub-class of edittext designed for use as a child of textinputlayout . using this class allows us to display a hint in the ime when in 'extract' mode..

I have a form with an edittext that i want to fill any remaining space. it works but when you click to edit the text (in the emulator) it decreases the height of the edittext which i actually kind of want but only to a certain point..
